Back on the Water: J&R Products Angler Rewards Recaps August 8th Charter

On August 8, 2026, the J&R Products Angler Rewards team loaded back up and launched out of Long Beach for our second local charter trip of the month. The surface action stayed hot, giving our rewards members another full day of tight lines and bent rods.

The Catch Breakdown

The local reefs and structure gave up a classic summer mixed bag:

  • Barracuda: The surface bite kicked off fast, with toothy 'cudas chasing iron and live bait right near the boat.

  • Calico Bass: Aggressive kelp bass provided constant action on light tackle around the structure.

  • Sand Bass: Solid bottom-structure bass rounded out the catch, adding extra weight to the fish sacks.

  • Sculpin: Plentiful and reliable, rounding out coolers with plenty of delicious fillets.
