Local Fishing Trip (Charter)
Slow Start, Strong Finish: August 15th Long Beach Charter Delivers 6 Yellowtail
The J&R Products Angler Rewards team headed back out of Long Beach on August 15, 2026 for our third local charter of the month. Early conditions tested our patience—with a severe bait shortage at first, the morning got off to a notoriously slow crawl.
Once the crew finally secured fresh live bait, the entire trip flipped on its head and the rods stayed bent for the rest of the day.
The Final Haul
Yellowtail (6 Landed): The absolute prize of the day, these hard-pulling fighters ignited the deck.
Barracuda (Heavy Action): Plentiful surface strikes kept everyone busy with non-stop bite-after-bite momentum.
Calico Bass: Great structure picks once the fish keyed into the new bait supply.
Sculpin: Solid bottom biters that capped off full fish sacks for the ride home.
Never Give Up on the Water
This trip was a classic reminder of why we fish: absolute perseverance. Our Angler Rewards members hung tough through the early lull, and the crew worked overtime to find the bait that saved the day.
